Rehabilitation Counseling M.S. Program at N.I.U.

The NIU Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling program is accepting applications for fall 2017. Complete applications are due by Feb 1, 2017. May and August 2017 graduates are encouraged to apply!

The demand for rehabilitation counselors is expected to grow by 19% through 2024.

 

Where are graduates employed?

Program graduates are employed in a variety of settings including state/federal vocational rehabilitation programs, the veteran’s administration, private rehabilitation firms, college/university disability services, independent living centers, school-to-work transition programs, and vocational evaluation centers.

 

What are the admission requirements for the program?

No. GRE scores are not required.

 

 

What is the average GPA for admitted students?

Over the past two years, the average GPA of admitted students is 3.3/4.0. However, students have been admitted with a GPA lower than 3.3 and higher than 3.3.

 

 

What prerequisite courses are required for admission?

None. The program does not require prerequisite courses.
